How it Works - The Design Process: Case Studies

What happens when you decide to use White Ochre Design Ltd. for your design services?

  • Meg at White Ochre Design will discuss with you your design requirements either via email, phone/Skype or in person (where possible) and ascertain the best way forward for your particular project.

  • We will then produce a written quotation document which will contain the project specifications and costs involved. Once this written quotation has been accepted and a deposit paid or payment schedule agreed, we will begin work on the designs as per the specifics of the document.

  • Initial designs are then presented and depending on the feedback given by you, White Ochre Design will work creatively and efficiently to produce the best designs for your project.

  • Once the designs are approved by you, web build will begin for website projects and final designs for logos, flyers and brochures will be created and sent via email to the client. We are able to source printers where required and liaise with all parties involved.

  • We keep in close touch with you throughout the whole design process. We design on Bespoke, WordPress and E-commerce design platforms plus we do basic SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and can advise on more in-depth SEO and website marketing.

The following case studies are examples of how we would work with you.

Harbour Park Design Project
Client: Harbour Park, Littlehampton, West Sussex, England
Design brief: Create graphic designs for their new website. Design the layout, menu navigation, graphical buttons and graphical links for their new website. Work in conjunction with their hosting company and e-commerce provider to build their new website integrating the graphic designs.
Project overview: White Ochre Design had an initial face to face meeting with Harbour Park at which time the quotation document was accepted and the project confirmed. We then liaised with Harbour Park's hosting company to confirm file formats and design delivery methods. We worked with Harbour Park on design delivery deadlines and a payment schedule. Initial designs were presented to Harbour Park. The client gave feedback and we then presented modified designs until Harbour Park approved the designs for each of the main areas of the website. We had further face-to-face meetings with both Harbour Park and their hosting company to discuss the page build stage and content management system and e-commerce section of the website.
Final result: The project concluded with the launch of the new Harbour Park website www.harbourpark.com

"Meg has an uncanny skill of absorbing the big message you wish to portray in your website design. With only a verbal brief and one site visit she managed to embed herself in our brand, our target audience and key features we wished to portray. It was a pleasure to see the graphical construction of our website run so smoothly and under time pressures, she was quick too! If you're looking for a web designer who is easily accessible when you really need it and someone who has a genuine desire to learn about your company and grow their knowledge base of your industry look no further. Pleasure working with you Meg :-)"
- Ashley Smart, Finance Director, Harbour Park Ltd UK

"When we decided to update our website we decided that it should coincide with the expansion of our ticket and product range so that we could sell more effectively across the web to our guests.

Meg being local to us and a mum allowed us to have our target market creating the visuals to our new site, which appealed to us greatly. Meg immersed herself in our brand and our company values and we believe that the end product shows the sensitivity and understanding she brought to what we were looking to achieve.

We trusted Meg to work independently and closely with our point of sale provider so that our current systems were integrated to the new web sales platform. This way she and them were able to solve minor problems immediately and kept me informed the whole way through.

Meg’s involvement with our family run company was engaging, professional throughout, sensitive to our goals and we believe the end product was something to be proud of. We particularly liked the ride height filter she developed to allow users to be able to decide quickly if we were appropriate for them to visit.

We enjoyed working with Meg and can recommend her without reservation."

TheFundingMentor Logo and Website Design project
Client: Helen Scott, TheFundingMentor.com, Worthing, West Sussex, England
Design brief: Create a logo and company branding plus a new website with social media integration on a WordPress platform for a new business venture.
Project overview: White Ochre Design had an initial face-to-face meeting with Helen where we brainstormed ideas for the business name and website ideas. This was a great opportunity for White Ochre Design to get to know the overall vision Helen had for her new business. Once the quotation document was agreed upon and a payment schedule confirmed, White Ochre Design presented design concepts for the logo, a few of which were chosen by the client and the logo was developed into a final approved design. Based on the logo design, a business card design was developed and following that, two concepts for the website homepage were presented to the client. The chosen and approved homepage design was then used to develop a fully working content management website. White Ochre Design kept in close contact with Helen throughout this process ensuring the website stayed on track with what Helen wanted.
Final result: The project concluded with the launch of www.thefundingmentor.com White Ochre Design also provided Helen with a one-to-one tutorial showing her how to update her website using the WordPress content management admin panel. "This is a third time I have had the pleasure of working with Meg on putting together a website - she really can turn her hand to company's needs! Meg's real selling point as a web designer, is that she is also a graphic designer. I know that when I talk to her about any new business that needs a website / logo, she will come up with something inspirational and eye-catching and it will stand out from the crowd. Meg achieved this brilliantly with TheFundingMentor.com logo which has a target symbol in it - this explains exactly what the company does - targets funding!

I have once again really enjoyed working with Meg whose continued patience with me and my numerous queries, knows no bounds. Meg is also incredibly responsive and works to tight deadlines and turns around the work very quickly. Equally as important, White Ochre Design is great value for money. My new website is up and running and the business cards are being handed out - I get a lot of questions asking who designed them - I am delighted to recommend Meg and White Ochre Design to my colleagues and clients." - Helen Scott, Founder of TheFundingMentor
